It’s that time again: a New Year, a time to reflect on the year behind us and anticipate the future ahead. Most of us were brought up in the tradition of making New Year’s resolutions and we’ve all heard people say, “New year, new me!” While a lot of people spend the first two weeks of January professing how things will be different, the unspoken truth is that by February, those resolutions usually start to fade.
Why does this happen? It’s simple, really. When we focus on how we are going to physically change our world through Herculean effort and willpower, we set ourselves up for failure. Maybe we resolve to try to lose weight, save money, work harder. Focusing on these physical, external factors makes it difficult to change; what we should do instead is learn to embrace and heal our energy in order to instantly create change.
I said that it’s simple, but what does healing your energy really mean? It’s almost a world movement now. Millions of people around the world are discovering the power of energy healing. It is more powerful than meditation, creative visualization, and almost every personal growth technique out there.
Before I discovered the power of energy and realized that we co-create all energy that comes into our reality, I used to almost dread New Year’s resolutions. I didn’t want to promise something and then judge myself when I fell short. I would make the same goals as everyone else: “This year will be the year I make more money,” or, “This year I will have my healthiest body!” I would set goals and make to-do lists on how to achieve them, but it always seemed so hard, as if I had to have a superhuman amount of willpower, of luck, to succeed.
Now I understand the ability to tune in and create what I want is simple and much more effective than the way I was going about it in the past.
From a scientific and metaphysical perspective, you are a being that is made up of different energy levels: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Each of these levels has a vibrational frequency, which combine to create your overall vibration of being. Your own energy level, or vibration, reflects your overall state of well-being and creates everything you experience in your life.
Your vibrational frequency will attract emotions and physical manifestations of things that vibrate at the same frequency. If your energetic frequency is low, you’ll be attracting disruption and difficulties into your life. But if you shift your energetic frequency to higher levels, you’ll start attracting a life that serves you, one aligned with your true, whole self.
So how do you change your energy to create the change you want in your life this New Year?
Start the old-fashioned way!
- Write out a list of exactly what you want to see happen in your life.
- Next to each item you listed, write how you would feel if you created it in your life. For example, if you wrote, “I want to lose 10 pounds,” maybe next to it you would write, “I feel confident and empowered.”
- Once you have the feeling you want to experience, listen to this meditation – it will help you raise your own energy level to effortlessly attract everything you want – in less than 5 minutes a day!
