Around the time I began this journey of exploring and deepening my spiritual self, I ran into a friend I hadn’t seen in quite a while. After we caught up for a few minutes, he stopped and looked at me questioningly.
“What is so different about you?”
I asked him what he meant, to which he replied, “You just seem so centered and peaceful – so happy.”
I smiled. How could I explain to my old friend that everything in my world is changing?
I am growing from a woman who felt like life was happening to me into a woman who knows all that happens in life happens for me. I am no longer defining my success by my professional accomplishments as a lawyer or safety advocate. Instead, I am finding satisfaction in my deepest accomplishments, which stem from the discovery of my own connection to the source of all that is Divine Light, Divine Love, and helping others experience the same.
I am growing out of the illusion of separation to a consciousness of being one with everyone – whether it is my opponent in the courtroom or my best friend. I am transitioning from seeking approval from others to accessing an innate knowing of my own worth. I have gone from making 5-year plans to trusting the Universe to lead me directly to where I am meant to be.
I am changing.
I am learning to trust and let go, to live in my own Light and truth. It hasn’t been a perfect journey, but I’m on my way. As I thought more about my friend’s question, I realized I have embraced several practices to find my inner Light and have started living life from a new perspective. I am constantly seeking to keep my center in connection with Divine Light.
I think the best way for me to explain myself here is to actually share this process, in the form of what I call “Light Tools.” These are key practices that we can use every day to further our spiritual development and return to who we are meant to be. I am excited to share what I’ve learned, and am learning, with you. You can begin using these Light Tools immediately to strengthen your own connection with Divine Light.
