The #1 myth about meditation is that your mind should be blank.
When I talk to people who have never meditated or who tried and gave up, the number one reason they quit is because they just couldn’t stop thinking.
But is that actually a problem?
No!
The brain just can’t stop – its job is to think!
Just like your heart’s job is to beat, it’s your mind’s job to think, and both will do so whether you want them to or not.
Andy Puddicombe, co-founder of the meditation app “Headspace,” led what might have been the world’s largest guided meditation.
Andy’s first instruction was this: “Don’t worry about thoughts…just allow them to come and go.”
